Lord willing, this weekend I will preach a different text and a slightly different title than Thomas Chalmers' epic making (for me, at least) sermon The Expulsive Power of a New Affection.
It was Chalmers' sermon that the Lord used to further open my eyes to scores of texts in God's Word that teach the amazing truth that our worldly affections don't simply need to be eradicated but replaced with God given affection for Christ.
