The God of the Bible

A few people have asked for the scriptures read this past Sunday evening. If you have 15 minutes, read and enjoy the God of the Bible through His Word.

Isaiah 57:15
For thus says the high and exalted One Who lives forever, whose name is Holy "I dwell on a high and holy place, And also with the contrite and lowly of spirit In order to revive the spirit of the lowly And to revive the heart of the contrite.

Isaiah 45:5-7
"I am the Lord, and there is no other;Besides Me there is no God I will gird you, though you have not known Me; [6] That men may know from the rising to the setting of the sun That there is no one besides Me. I am the Lord, and there is no other, [7] The One forming light and creating darkness,Causing well-being and creating calamity;I am the Lord who does all these.

Isaiah 40:18 To whom then will you liken God? Or what likeness will you compare with Him?

Isaiah 40:21-29
Do you not know? Have you not heard? Has it not been declared to you from the beginning? Have you not understood from the foundations of the earth? [22] It is He who sits above the circle of the earth,And its inhabitants are like grasshoppers,Who stretches out the heavens like a curtain And spreads them out like a tent to dwell in.[23] He it is who reduces rulers to nothing,Who makes the judges of the earth meaningless. [24] Scarcely have they been planted,Scarcely have they been sown,Scarcely has their stock taken root in the earth, But He merely blows on them, and they wither,And the storm carries them away like stubble. [25] "To whom then will you liken Me That I would be his equal?" says the Holy One.[26] Lift up your eyes on high And see who has created these stars, The One who leads forth their host by number, He calls them all by name;Because of the greatness of His might and the strength of His power, Not one of them is missing.[27] Why do you say, O Jacob, and assert, O Israel, "My way is hidden from the Lord, And the justice due me escapes the notice of my God"? [28] Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth Does not become weary or tired. His understanding is inscrutable. [29] He gives strength to the weary, And to him who lacks might He increases power.

Isaiah 41:4
"Who has performed and accomplished it,Calling forth the generations from the beginning? 'I, the Lord, am the first, and with the last. I am He.'

Isaiah 42:5-8
Thus says God the Lord, Who created the heavens and stretched them out, Who spread out the earth and its offspring, Who gives breath to the people on it And spirit to those who walk in it, [6] "I am the Lord, I have called You in righteousness, I will also hold You by the hand and watch over You, And I will appoint You as a covenant to the people, As a light to the nations, [7] To open blind eyes,To bring out prisoners from the dungeon And those who dwell in darkness from the prison. [8] "I am the Lord, that is My name; I will not give My glory to another, Nor My praise to graven images.

Isaiah 43:10-13
"You are My witnesses," declares the Lord, "And My servant whom I have chosen, So that you may know and believe Me And understand that I am He.Before Me there was no God formed, And there will be none after Me.
[11] "I, even I, am the Lord, And there is no savior besides Me. [12] "It is I who have declared and saved and proclaimed, And there was no strange god among you; So you are My witnesses," declares the Lord, "And I am God. [13] "Even from eternity I am He, And there is none who can deliver out of My hand; I act and who can reverse it?"

Isaiah 43:21 "The people whom I formed for Myself Will declare My praise.

Isaiah 43:25
"I, even I, am the one who wipes out your transgressions for My own sake, And I will not remember your sins.

Isaiah 44:6-8
"Thus says the Lord, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts: 'I am the first and I am the last,
And there is no God besides Me.[7] 'Who is like Me? Let him proclaim and declare it;Yes, let him recount it to Me in order, From the time that I established the ancient nation. And let them declare to them the things that are coming And the events that are going to take place. [8] 'Do not tremble and do not be afraid; Have I not long since announced it to you and declared it? And you are My witnesses. Is there any God besides Me, Or is there any other Rock? I know of none.' "
Isaiah 45:17-24
Israel has been saved by the Lord With an everlasting salvation; You will not be put to shame or humiliated To all eternity. [18] For thus says the Lord, who created the heavens (He is the God who formed the earth and made it, He established it and did not create it a waste place, but formed it to be inhabited), "I am the Lord, and there is none else.[19] "I have not spoken in secret, In some dark land; I did not say to the offspring of Jacob, 'Seek Me in a waste place'; I, the Lord, speak righteousness, Declaring things that are upright.
[20] "Gather yourselves and come; Draw near together, you fugitives of the nations; They have no knowledge,
Who carry about their wooden idol And pray to a god who cannot save. [21] "Declare and set forth your case;
Indeed, let them consult together. Who has announced this from of old? Who has long since declared it? Is it not I, the Lord? And there is no other God besides Me, A righteous God and a Savior; There is none except Me.
[22] "Turn to Me and be saved, all the ends of the earth; For I am God, and there is no other. [23] "I have sworn by Myself, The word has gone forth from My mouth in righteousness And will not turn back, That to Me every knee will bow, every tongue will swear allegiance. [24] "They will say of Me, 'Only in the Lord are righteousness and strength.' Men will come to Him, And all who were angry at Him will be put to shame.

Isaiah 46:5 "To whom would you liken Me And make Me equal and compare Me, That we would be alike?

Isaiah 46:9-13
"Remember the former things long past, For I am God, and there is no other;I am God, and there is no one like Me, [10] Declaring the end from the beginning,And from ancient times things which have not been done, Saying, 'My purpose will be established, And I will accomplish all My good pleasure'; [11] Calling a bird of prey from the east,The man of My purpose from a far country. Truly I have spoken; truly I will bring it to pass.
I have planned it, surely I will do it.[12] "Listen to Me, you stubborn-minded, Who are far from righteousness. [13] "I bring near My righteousness, it is not far off; And My salvation will not delay. And I will grant salvation in Zion, And My glory for Israel.

Isaiah 48:9-11
"For the sake of My name I delay My wrath, And for My praise I restrain it for you, In order not to cut you off.
[10] "Behold, I have refined you, but not as silver;I have tested you in the furnace of affliction. [11] "For My own sake, for My own sake, I will act; For how can My name be profaned? And My glory I will not give to another.

Isaiah 55:8-11
"For My thoughts are not your thoughts,Nor are your ways My ways," declares the Lord. [9] "For as the heavens are higher than the earth,So are My ways higher than your ways And My thoughts than your thoughts.
[10] "For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, And do not return there without watering the earth
And making it bear and sprout, And furnishing seed to the sower and bread to the eater; [11] So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth; It will not return to Me empty, Without accomplishing what I desire, And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.

Exodus 34:5-7
The Lord descended in the cloud and stood there with him as he called upon the name of the Lord. [6] Then the Lord passed by in front of him and proclaimed, "The Lord, the Lord God, compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in lovingkindness and truth; [7] who keeps lovingkindness for thousands, who forgives iniquity, transgression and sin; yet He will by no means leave the guilty unpunished, visiting the iniquity of fathers on the children and on the grandchildren to the third and fourth generations."

Psalm 113:1-9
Praise the Lord! Praise, O servants of the Lord, Praise the name of the Lord. [2] Blessed be the name of the Lord From this time forth and forever. [3] From the rising of the sun to its setting The name of the Lord is to be praised.[4] The Lord is high above all nations; His glory is above the heavens.[5] Who is like the Lord our God, Who is enthroned on high,[6] Who humbles Himself to behold The things that are in heaven and in the earth?
[7] He raises the poor from the dust And lifts the needy from the ash heap,[8] To make them sit with princes,
With the princes of His people.[9] He makes the barren woman abide in the house As a joyful mother of children. Praise the Lord!

Malachi 1:11 "For from the rising of the sun even to its setting, My name will be great among the nations, and in every place incense is going to be offered to My name, and a grain offering that is pure; for My name will be great among the nations," says the Lord of hosts.

Romans 11:33-36 Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways! [34] For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who became His counselor? [35] Or who has first given to Him that it might be paid back to him again? [36] For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen.
Psalm 8:1 O Lord, our Lord, How majestic is Your name in all the earth, Who have displayed Your splendor above the heavens!

Psalm 12:6 The words of the Lord are pure words; As silver tried in a furnace on the earth, refined seven times.

Psalm 19:1 The heavens are telling of the glory of God; And their expanse is declaring the work of His hands.

Psalm 29:1-9
Ascribe to the Lord, O sons of the mighty, Ascribe to the Lord glory and strength. [2] Ascribe to the Lord the glory due to His name; Worship the Lord in holy array.[3] The voice of the Lord is upon the waters; The God of glory thunders, The Lord is over many waters.[4] The voice of the Lord is powerful,The voice of the Lord is majestic. [5] The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars;Yes, the Lord breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon.[6] He makes Lebanon skip like a calf, And Sirion like a young wild ox.[7] The voice of the Lord hews out flames of fire. [8] The voice of the Lord shakes the wilderness; The Lord shakes the wilderness of Kadesh. [9] The voice of the Lord makes the deer to calve And strips the forests bare; And in His temple everything says, "Glory!"

Psalm 67:1-7 God be gracious to us and bless us,And cause His face to shine upon us—Selah. [2] That Your way may be known on the earth, Your salvation among all nations. [3] Let the peoples praise You, O God; Let all the peoples praise You. [4] Let the nations be glad and sing for joy; For You will judge the peoples with uprightnessAnd guide the nations on the earth.Selah. [5] Let the peoples praise You, O God; Let all the peoples praise You. [6] The earth has yielded its produce;God, our God, blesses us.[7] God blesses us,That all the ends of the earth may fear Him.

Thanks for posting this.

As you read this on Sunday, I sat there in my seat with head in hands, shot through with conviction.

Isaiah 6 immediately came to mind:

Then I said,
"Woe is me, for I am ruined! Because I am a man of unclean lips, And I live among a people of unclean lips; For my eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts."

Ruined. Undone.
